Jason Aldean had what he would definitely term 'My Kinda Party' yesterday (March 1) at Terrazo's Restaurant in Nashville to celebrate the newly-announced platinum status of his album by that name. Once everyone was there, Jason found that there was even more cause for celebration, as his duet single with Kelly Clarkson, 'Don't You Wanna Stay,' reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard's country singles chart this week. It was his sixth career single to hit the top of the chart.

Monday, February 28, was the singer's 34th birthday and while Jason had stayed around the house most of the day, due in part to the storms that came through Nashville on Sunday night and Monday morning. he did receive a special birthday present from Benny Brown, the head of his label, Broken Bow Records. Brown handed Jason the keys to his own truck!

About 300 of Jason's friends and colleagues in the music industry, along with his parents and wife, Jennifer, sang 'Happy Birthday' and raised a few drinks in honor of the singer's numerous career achievements. Friends and family mingled in the room, which has huge windows offering a beautiful view of downtown Nashville, enjoying Mexican cheese dip and several other specialty dips, served with homemade potato chips and tortilla chips.

"I want to thank all those people who had a hand in helping this album get to platinum status," Jason told the crowd. Three of the singer's albums have reached platinum status, with this one being the fastest selling of his career. Jason also received a plaque commemorating sales of five million for his four albums.

Plaques were given out commemorating the one million in sales, including one to each of the 140 reporting radio stations that played his music. Those plaques lined one of the walls in the room where the party was held.

After presenting the last plaque, Brown came forward again, with what looked like a poster in his hand. "Jason has been wanting a Ford truck," Brown explained "and we went out looking at trucks back in December, and ordered it. We hoped it would be here by the platinum party. I even told Jason that if it was here before the party, I just might give it to him!"

Unfortunately it didn't look like Jason was going to have his dream truck in time for the party, so Brown started checking with dealerships to see if any one of them had one. Since the truck had been a custom-made, limited edition model, he knew it would be hard to find. Amazingly, a similar truck was found right in Nashville.

"Here are the keys to your new truck," Brown told Jason as he handed over a set of keys. Jason was both surprised and thrilled to get the vehicle, a 2011 Ford truck. "I meant you and Jessica," Brown added. "The truck is hers, too."

"I don't let her drive my truck," Jason said, laughing as he accepted the keys.

After receiving his truck and birthday cake, Jason continued the celebration by visiting one-on-one with those in attendance.

Jason is back on the road in Charlottesville, Va., on Thursday (March 3) and Lexington, Ky., on Friday (March 4). See more of his upcoming tour dates here.
