Singer-songwriter and Blaster Records recording artist Jared Ashley got perhaps the best early Father's Day gift ever. He and his wife Taylor welcomed their first child, daughter Georgia McClain Ashley, in Nashville on Sunday, June 16.

The newborn weighed seven pounds, two ounces and measured 19 inches. She is named Georgia in honor of her parents' home state.

"This whole process has been and continues to be such an amazing experience," Ashley tells Country Weekly. "I never imagined I could love someone so much in an instant. I just pray she grows up to look like her mother!"

Ashley joined the Navy after high school and served two tours of duty in the Persian Gulf. During that time he cut his teeth playing acoustic gigs at George's Country Bar in Yokosuka, Japan. Upon leaving the service he made his way to Nashville, where he built a loyal following through weekly gigs at the world-famous Tootsie's Orchid Lounge.

His debut single, 'Last Train to Memphis,' is currently at radio. It is the first taste of his Blaster Records debut album, which is slated for release in 2014. Ashley keeps a busy schedule of 150 live dates per year. Keep up with his schedule here.
