Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter James Otto has signed a new record deal with Blaster Records, the label home to Montgomery Gentry, Chuck WicksJack Ingram and others.

“I’m so excited about this new partnership with Blaster,” Otto says in a press release. “I’d taken some time off to reflect on my life and my career, and it gave me some great perspective and inspiration. I know a bunch of those guys, and I knew it was the right fit for me.

"I’m more focused and committed now than I ever have been in my life," he adds. "I’m really excited about the future.”

Otto's new agreement gives Blaster immediate control, including over promotional aspects of his latest single, "Somewhere Tonight."

“We’d been watching what was happening with “Somewhere Tonight,” and were impressed,” Blaster Records President Derek Simon says. “There are a lot of alliances between our camp and James’ team, so one conversation kept leading to another. Both sides were able to be really be creative in quickly structuring a deal that supports what James is trying to do. We’re really excited about how this has all come together.”

It's been four years since Otto's last single, "Soldiers and Jesus," was released in 2010, and fans have been looking forward to hearing new music from the 41-year-old.

“With all the things that happen in life, sometimes you just need to break out, and that’s exactly what this song is about,” Otto explains. “It’s saying, ‘I just want to go somewhere tonight. I wanna forget about all the stress and pressure at work and the busy schedules. I just want to get out and have some fun.’”
