As an artist, up-and-comer Jaden Michaels recently released her debut country single, "Behave." However, she knows what it's like to hear her lyrics coming through the speakers: As a songwriter, Michaels has earned a number of cuts since the early 2010s. She's sharing some of her favorites -- as well as some of the tracks that have inspired her -- with The Boot's readers as a playlist.

""Behave" is about walking the lin between what you should do and what you know you shouldn't do," Michaels tells The Boot of her debut single, which she co-wrote with Steve Mostyn and Alex Nicefero. "Sometimes you just want to misbehave with the thought of the potential in someone."

In addition to "Behave," Michaels' own "Making Up" and "Giving Up" kick off her playlist. From there, however, fans should recognize some of the artists she's written for: Lea Michele and Naya Rivera, both formerly of Glee; Carly Rae Jepsen; JoJo and country duo Smithfield have all recorded songs by Michaels. In fact, Michaels co-wrote Smithfield's latest single, "Our World," with Ben Johnson and Jordan Minton.

A native of Davenport, Iowa, Michaels -- the older sister of pop artist Julia Michaels, whose song "Issues" appears on this playlist -- began performing when she was 10 years old. She's currently working on her debut EP, channeling artists such as the Dixie Chicks, Alanis Morissette and LeAnn Rimes for inspiration. Michaels calls Rimes' "On the Side of Angels" "my talent show go-to."

"I sang that song at all of my talent shows growing up," she shares. "That song immediately brings me back to my childhood."
