Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott lived through an artist's worst nightmare earlier this month when her bus caught fire while she, her husband and her manager were en route to Texas for the 2015 ACM Awards. Still, the determined singer is refusing to allow the incident to dictate how she lives her life on the road.

"A lot of people, even our tour manager, were like, ‘Do you want to fly home? How do you feel about getting on the bus?’" Scott recalled to The Boot and other reporters at a recent media event. "And I was intentional about getting back on because it’s like, you fall off the horse, you get back on the horse.

"That was a once-in-a-lifetime thing that happened, and I don’t want to live in fear," she adds. "Everyone was okay, and I got back on the horse."

Thankfully, everyone, including the bus driver, was unharmed and made it off the bus safely, though many personal belongings were destroyed.

"I think it was just a fluke accident," Scott continues. "It was just a fluke."

Still, Scott says that one good thing may have come from the event: Lady Antebellum are now even more focused on safety as they kick off their Wheels Up 2015 Tour.

"I think everybody and all the bus drivers will be checking the buses a lot more," she notes.

Lady Antebellum will return to Texas to launch their upcoming trek on May 1 in Lubbock, with Sam Hunt and Hunter Hayes serving as their opening acts. A list of all of their upcoming shows is available on their website.
