George Strait Knows Who He Wants to Jump Out of His Birthday Cake — and It’s Not Keith Urban
Keith Urban stole the show during Loretta Lynn's all-star 87th birthday tribute concert in early April, when the country star jumped out of a gigantic (fake) birthday cake to wish the iconic performer a happy birthday. But while that may have been the Queen of Country Music's wish, but the King of Country Music has a very different idea of what makes for a good birthday surprise.
Urban's special delivery was in response to a birthday wish Loretta had previously expressed, when she shared in a press release, "The only other wish I have is that Keith Urban jumps out of my birthday cake!" The country star recently admitted to WGNA's Brian & Chrissy in the Morning that, backstage before he surprised Lynn, he also offered his cake-jumping services to George Strait when the legendary performer's own 87th birthday rolled around.
Strait, though, turned him down: "He said, 'I think I'll have Lee Ann Womack do it,'" Urban says, "'but thank you.'"

Both Urban and Strait were part of the lineup of performers slotted to honor Lynn for her birthday; the night's cast also included Miranda Lambert, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Kacey Musgraves and a host of others. The iconic country star officially turns 87 on Sunday (April 14).
Although Strait seemed pretty confident in his decision, he has plenty of time to rethink Urban's offer. He won't be turning 87 for another two decades.
