Garth Brooks Continues to Set Records on World Tour

Garth Brooks is continuing to break records on his World Tour, most recently in Baltimore, Md.; Wichita, Kan.; Phoenix, Ariz; and San Diego, Calif.

Brooks will play Baltimore for the first time ever in his career in 2016, and clearly, the city's fans are eager to have him: The country superstar has broken the record for the number of shows at Baltimore's Royal Farms Arena. He will play five shows at the venue at the end of January, including two on the same night to close out his run. Previously, the Beatles and Neil Diamond held the record, each having played two shows at Royal Farms Arena (then Civic Arena) on their 1964 and 1993 tours, respectively.

Brooks has also recently broken ticket sales records in Wichita, Phoenix and San Diego. In Whicita, he sold more than 65,000 tickets in under one hour after tickets for his shows there went on sale. That number bests Brooks' 1997 record of selling more than 51,000 tickets in the same amount of time.

In Phoenix, Brooks sold more than 60,000 tickets for his concerts at the city's Talking Stick Resort Arena, breaking his 1996 record of 53,248 tickets sold for shows at the American West Arena. And in San Diego, the singer sold more than 50,000 tickets, besting his record for a set of 1996 shows in the city.

Brooks' World Tour, featuring his wife Trisha Yearwood, most recently stopped in San Jose, Calif., on Nov. 13, 14 and 15. After playing in Wichita in early December, the tour's next stop is in Sunrise, Fla., in mid-January.
