Garth and Trisha’s Prized Pooch a Westminster Contender

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood have won their share of awards throughout their careers, and apparently now even their pets are getting in on the trophy case action! According to Dial-Global, the couple own a prize-winning greyhound named Emmett, and the highbrow pup is headed to the Westminster Kennel Club's 134th Annual Dog Show in New York.

Garth and Trisha co-own the dog with friend Jena Raymer, who shows Emmett. Jena reports the country stars actually decided to show off Emmett's skills after she kidded them that they could give fellow power couple Amy Grant and Vince Gill a little competition.

"Vince and Amy own a dog named Manny, and I was kidding around with Garth and Trisha one day when I said, 'Why don't you back Emmett so you can give Vince and Amy a run for their money?' He said it sounded like a plan, so they jumped on board," Jena reports.
