Florida Georgia Line were honored at the 2015 CMT Artists of the Year ceremony on Wednesday night (Dec. 2), but one half of the duo had to watch the event from his couch.

While accepting FGL's trophy, Brian Kelley mentioned that his duo partner, Tyler Hubbard, was unable to attend the ceremony because he and wife Hayley "are heading to Africa in January to do some charitable work, and he had a bad reaction to some shots." Shots containing vaccinations for typhoid, malaria, rabies and more are a common part of the pre-travel routine for those traveling to Africa, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Kelley added that Hubbard was "a little under the weather -- not feeling well at all" -- and he really wasn't kidding!

On Instagram, Hubbard shared a photo of his wife and himself watching Kelley accept the award while sitting on their couch hooked up to IVs.

"Tonight is a rough night to have FOMO (fear of missing out) 'cause I know #CMTAOTY is a good time with great folks," Hubbard writes. "... It's back to Motrin and a hydration IV for Hayley and I."

Earlier in the week, Hubbard posted a picture of him and his wife and captioned it "In sickness and in health #teamhubbard."

Florida Georgia Line recently released a new single, "Confession," from their 2014 sophomore album, Anything Goes. They spent their summer out on their 2015 Anything Goes Tour and also with Luke Bryan‘s 2015 Kick the Dust Up Tour and are currently working on a new album.
