Faith Hill Plans Release of ‘Deep Tracks’, Featuring Three Unreleased Songs
Faith Hill fans have been waiting years for new music from the country star, and soon, they'll get some. The singer has announced plans to release Deep Tracks on Nov. 18.
Hill's Deep Tracks will be filled with non-single tracks from four of Hill's previous albums -- songs that, the artist says in a press release, "remain some of my favorites" -- but it will also contain three previously unreleased songs: "Boy," "Why" and "Come to Jesus."
"There have been some amazing songs that I've been fortunate enough to record, some that didn't make it onto albums," Hill adds, "and I thought it would be nice to include a few of those on this album as well."
According to the release, "Boy" is one of the very last songs that Hill recorded, while "Why" is a favorite of her husband, Tim McGraw; "it was and sadly still is today an important message," Hill notes. "Come to Jesus," meanwhile, had special meaning to Hill and McGraw's parents.
"This is for my mom, who has wanted me to record a gospel album for years," Hill explains. "It is also very personal for our family because I recorded this song during the last couple of weeks that [McGraw's father] Tug McGraw battled with brain cancer. Tim played him my rough cut, and Tug listened to it multiple times a day until his passing [on Jan. 5, 2004]."
Deep Tracks will be Hill's final release under her contract with Warner Bros., her label home since 1993. On Warner, she has released six studio albums and a Christmas album.
A complete track listing for Deep Tracks is below; the project is available for pre-order on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play. In April, Hill and McGraw will embark on their co-headlining 2017 Soul2Soul Tour.
