Eric ChurchEric Church is currently on the Rowdy Friendz tour with Hank Williams Jr. and Jamey Johnson, but they aren't the only artists with him on the road. He's got a few other surprising musical companions: "I've got Madonna on my iPod. I've got Britney [Spears] on my iPod. I think [Britney's] 'Toxic' is a great record," Eric tells The Boot. "My fans would freak out if they knew that, but it's true. But I've got some really cool stuff, too."

Next up for Eric is a spot on the Country Throwdown tour alongside Jamey, Montgomery Gentry, Jack Ingram, Little Big Town, starting May 14 in Tampa, Fla.

He's also thinking about his third album, which will be the follow up to 2009's 'Carolina.' But Eric is in no rush. It was, after all, three years between 2006's 'Sinners Like Me' and 'Carolina,' and it could be a similar wait for his next set.

"I'm slow at [making albums]," he says. "I don't make many. I'm old-school. Every three or four years is OK with me as long as they're the right records ... I'm going to try to pick some time this fall to figure out what the next record is."

As far as a release date, don't hold your breath. "2011," Eric says, "Possibly late."
