Dustin Lynch has spent his summer out on the road with Luke Bryan, as an opening act on Bryan's 2015 Kick the Dust Up Tour, and he's hoping that even after the trek wraps up, Bryan will act as a good luck charm of sorts as he prepares new music.

"Seeing his new album come out and do so well, how good it is, I want to stay around that mojo and run some new songs by Luke, get his take on what I’m excited about for my third album," Lynch tells The Boot. "Because, you know, his third album was really his album that took him to a new level, and I’ve been following his career since he’s been playing the college scene, so I kind of go along and follow his blueprint for how it’s done."

Bryan's third album, Tailgates & Tanlines, was released in August of 2011 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and No. 2 on the Top 200 -- his first No. 1 album on the country albums chart, and his first Top 5 album on the all-genre chart. Tailgates & Tanlines also went double platinum and includes hits such as "Country Girl (Shake It for Me)" and "Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye."

"Knowing how big and how instrumental the third album was for him, it’s like, ‘Man, I want mine to be as good as that,'" Lynch continues. "So I’ll probably try to lean on Luke a little bit …"

The "Hell of a Night" singer hasn't run any new music by Bryan just yet -- but only because Bryan has been sharing his own new songs with him. Lynch says that he first got to hear Bryan's recent release, Kill the Lights, "months ago, when they were just recording and stuff like that," and he's enjoyed getting to watch his tourmate go through the album release process.

"I love “Home Alone Tonight,” “Fast,” “Move” … “[Just] Over” is another one I love, and obviously “Strip It Down” and “Kick the Dust Up.” He’s put together a really good album," Lynch says. "I love “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day;” I think that’s a really cool tip of the hat to that early ‘90s sound that he and I both love. Yeah, it’s a great album, a well-rounded album, and I’m proud of him."

Lynch's current single, "Hell of a Night," is at No. 3 on the Country Airplay chart for the week ending Sept. 5. He will embark on his own headlining tour, the 2015 Hell of a Night Tour, in mid-November.
