Drake White has performed all over the country, opening for artists such as Eric Church, the Zac Brown Band and Willie Nelson, as well as headlining his own shows -- but given a choice, White would choose to play the Grand Ole Opry, every time.

"I have always been a big fan of the Opry and been a big fan of the history," White tells The Boot. "I love and am well-versed as to why were are standing here today, as far as country music and rock music and everything.

"I’m a record junkie; I listen to a lot of vinyl," he continues. "I listen to a lot of old records and new records, and just listen to a lot of music in general."

White, who is working on his debut album on Dot Records, says that he never turns down a chance to play on the revered stage.

"When asked to play the Opry, I always say yes, because this is my generation, and this is my chance to put my stamp on history and to help people and to help people in life through songs," he explains. "I think the Opry is so good at doing that, tapping into the younger generation, and I want to be a part of that."

White recently earned a coveted slot on the Opry 9.0, Vol. I: Discoveries From the Circle album; he has two songs on the record, which also features JT Hodges and Chase Bryant. The album is available for purchase on iTunes.
