Dolly Parton Joins Chicago for a ‘Wonderful Christmas’

With less than three months until Christmas, country artists are clamoring to deliver their yuletide tunes in time for the holiday season. Dolly Parton is the newest country singer to sign on to a Christmas project, lending her angelic vocals to 'Wonderful Christmas Time,' a track on legendary rock band Chicago's new holiday record, 'O Christmas Three,' out Oct. 4.

The album features original Chicago members Robert Lamm, Lee Loughnane, James Pankow and Walt Parazaider, with Dolly, gospel singer BeBe Winans, guitarist Steve Cropper and rock band America making cameo appearances on 'O Christmas Three.' Dolly's covers of Paul McCartney's 1979 Christmas favorite, which kicks off the 14-track collection.

"It was an exciting project to put together. I hope that our fans and other people who just happen to hear the album will feel that energy," Robert comments on the project. His fellow band member hopes Chicago's wide demographic of fans appreciate their latest offering. "I think this Christmas album will be enjoyed by young and old alike," Lee adds.

We reported last week that the Band Perry will appear on Justin Bieber's high-anticipated Christmas CD. The talented trio also contributed the track 'Santa Claus Is Coming to Town' for the Colonial Candles holiday gift set, a creative partnership between the candle company and the Band Perry's music home, Big Machine Label Group. Big Machine artists Reba, Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride and more have all signed on for the all-star holiday collection.
