Darius Rucker Gets in Disguise for ‘Undercover Boss’
Country crooner Darius Rucker will appear on a forthcoming episode of CBS’s Undercover Boss. The TV show, which disguises the high-level executives of various businesses and sends them to work with, observe and get to know their lower-level employees, will air two celebrity-focused episodes in mid-May.
The Celebrity Undercover Boss episode featuring Rucker was filmed in Austin, Texas. The "Wagon Wheel" singer donned a pretty convincing disguise, complete with grey wig and mustache, in order to seek out the city’s “next great musical acts,” according to CBS. In search of new talent, Rucker took in performances from street musicians on the Live Music Capitol of the World’s famous Sixth Street, spent some time as a roadie and ran an open mic night — all in disguise.
In addition to Rucker, chef and restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson also filmed a Celebrity Undercover Boss episode. CBS explains that, for the first time in Undercover Boss history, state-of-the-art prosthetic makeup was used to conceal Rucker's and Samuelsson's identities.
Rucker’s episode of Celebrity Undercover Boss will air on CBS on May 12 at 8PM ET. The singer's current single is “If I Told You;” the song is the first from a forthcoming new album.
