Darius Rucker Extends Southern Style Tour Into November
Due to high fan demand, Darius Rucker is extending his 2015 Southern Style Tour into the fall.
The tour will now stretch into November, with dates and ticket information being announced this week. A Thousand Horses will continue to open for Rucker on his fall dates, and David Nail will join the trek in October.
Rucker's 2015 Southern Style Tour launched on May 14 in Holmdel, N.J. Hundreds of thousands of fans -- 400,000 to be exact -- have seen Rucker so far on the first leg of his tour, which is on track to exceed 700,000 tickets sold by the end of its summer run.
In addition to A Thousand Horses, Brett Eldredge and the Brothers Osborne have been opening up Rucker's summer concerts. At a show at the end of May, Rucker had all hands on deck while performing the Hootie & the Blowfish hit "Hold My Hand," and thanks to this new tour leg, fans can expect the good times to keep rolling with the "Wagon Wheel" hitmaker.
While Rucker loves to have a good time onstage, he brought things down to a serious level after the tragic Charleston, S.C., church shooting in mid-June. A native of Charleston, Rucker was stunned by the horrible event, and he paid tribute to the victims with his voice, choosing to perform "Amazing Grace" during a tour stop in Texas.
“I want to say to all the people at the Mother Emanuel, my love is there,” Rucker said after the shootings. “But to the people of Charleston — people ask me all the time what my favorite part of Charleston is, and I always say the people, and they proved it through this. I’m so proud of my community, my town, the way we got together."
