Darius Rucker is the reigning CMA New Artist of the Year, and he's about to try out a new role -- as a DJ. Recently announced as the host for the 'America's Opry Weekend Year-End Special,' Darius will play the year's top hits, as well as recap some of country music's biggest stories, according to Country Standard Time.

Included in the special will be 'Cowboy Casanova' by Carrie Underwood, 'Then' by Brad Paisley, 'Love Story' by Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum's 'I Run to You.' Darius will also include his own hit, 'Alright,' in the program which will air on country radio stations nationwide.

In addition to gearing up for the Opry special, Darius is busy writing songs for his sophomore country album. The former Hootie and the Blowfish lead singer made his own Opry debut on July 30, 2008.
