Darin & Brooke Aldridge, ‘Everytime You Leave’ [Exclusive Premiere]
Darin & Brooke Aldridge's newest release revives a classic country song. The husband and wife have recorded their own version of "Everytime You Leave;" readers can press play above to watch the pair perform the song, accompanied by Jimmy Fortune of the Statler Brothers.
"Everytime You Leave" was written by Charlie and Ira Louvin and expresses the emotions of a couple that's keeping their love alive despite trouble: "Everytime you leave, you tear the soul from me," the Aldridges, accompanied by Fortune on harmony, sing during the chorus. "But I want to live, so I'll forgive / Everytime you leave." The song has also been recorded by Emmylou Harris and Don Everly.
""Everytime You Leave" captures the musical creativity and writing styles that we’ve always been inspired by from the Louvin Brothers," Darin & Brooke Aldridge say. "We were very excited to have our dear friend Jimmy Fortune add his vocal touch with ours. When the three of us blend our voices together, it brings a smile to our face and makes an already amazing tune that much more powerful.”
The Aldridges last released a new album, Faster & Farther, in 2017; they've made four appearances at the Grand Ole Opry in the months since. They're multi-nominees at the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Awards, the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) Awards and the Inspirational Country Music (ICM) Awards. In 2017, Brooke Aldridge was named the IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year, while Darin Aldridge received the IBMA Mentor of the Year trophy.
