This has got to be the most bizarre story we've posted on The Boot all year. George Boedecker, one of three co-founders of the footwear company Crocs, was arrested Sunday (Aug. 12) in Boulder, Colo., for allegedly driving under the influence. According to the Denver Post, police were called after a witness spotted the 51-year-old executive passed out in the driver's seat of his Porsche, which was still running and was parked on a sidewalk. Upon waking up, Boedecker said he actually was not driving -- his "girlfriend" Taylor Swift was! Reportedly with slurred speech and alcohol on his breath, he claimed the 22-year-old superstar had run off after an argument. When police asked where she ran, he responded, "Nashville." (We know Taylor's in great shape, but that would be a 1,200 mile run!)

Taylor was likely in her adopted hometown of Nashville during the time of the Crocs exec's arrest, prepping for her big album reveal on Monday. The singer-songwriter's fourth studio album, Red, will be released Oct. 22. Its first single, the infectious "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" hit radio this week and is already No. 1 on iTunes.

Boedecker, who was also reportedly uncooperative with officers, is now free on $500 bond. (See the police report here.) This is his second major run-in with the law. He was arrested in 2006 for trespassing and threatening to slit the throat of his sister's ex-husband.
