Colt Ford is one of country music's collaboration kings. He's been joined on songs by everyone from John Michael Montgomery and Jamey Johnson to James Otto and Eric Church -- and Ford says that there's a very simple secret to getting other artists to work with him.

"You just gotta find the right song is what it boils down to," he tells Taste of Country at the 2015 Taste of Country Music Festival.

One of Ford's newest collaborations is the song "She's Like," featuring Keith Urban, which appears on Ford's 2014 Thanks for Listening album. The country rapper says that he'd been wanting to work with Urban for quite some time, and when he asked the Aussie country star about the tune, it wasn't a tough sell.

“When I played him that song, before the second chorus started, he was already singing along," Ford says. "I was like, ‘Yes! I got him. He likes it.’ So he recorded it, and it’s really cool. It’s a cool song.”

Urban also played ToC Fest 2015 on Friday (June 13), and although Ford didn't get the headliner out on stage during his set, he did have LoCash join him on "Dirt Road Anthem."

“[Festivals are] a chance to get to play with multiple artists that sometimes you don’t get to see during [other tours]. You know, you’re going this way, they’re going that way, so you get to see your buddies and have a chance at the festivals, a lot of times, to hang out a little bit. It’s a lot of fun," Ford says. “And then, when you get the right group of artists together, you never know what may happen — people jumping on stage and things like that, so that’s always a lot of fun.”
