South Carolina singer-songwriter Cody Webb is premiering his brand-new single "Gettin' Somewhere" exclusively for readers of The Boot. Press play below to hear it.

A prolific songwriter, Webb co-wrote "Gettin' Somewhere" alongside Jason Matthews and Mike Mobley for his first release since 2017. The track, about getting close with a new flame out in the middle of nowhere, would fit in nicely on a playlist alongside Dan + Shay, Brett Young and Jake Owen thanks to its upbeat, modern country vibe; it would also sound perfect alongside "Memories Are Made Of," a song co-written by Webb that appears on Luke Combs' debut album.

"You slide over, just a little bit closer / Like you wanna all-night it / Yeah, that's more like it," Webb sings in the peppy, guitar-driven chorus of "Gettin' Somewhere." "Stars fall while we're fallin' down here / In the middle of nowhere / No we're gettin' somewhere."

Born and raised in Ridge Spring, S.C., Webb studied engineering at Clemson University -- he's got a mechanical engineering degree -- before making the big move to Nashville to seriously pursue a music career in 2014. Since then, he's written more than 150 songs, and shared the stage with country stars including Cole Swindell, Easton Corbin, Frankie Ballard, LoCash and more.

Webb will officially release "Gettin' Somewhere" as his newest single on Friday (March 15). Stay tuned to CodyWebbCountry.com for more details on new music from this up-and-comer in the coming months.
