Cody Jinks Rocks Out With His Diehard Fans at New Jersey Show [PICTURES]
Cody Jinks brought energy, grit and even a surprise or two to his Wednesday evening (Aug. 14) tour stop at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, N.J. Over the course of his set, the singer-songwriter rocked out with fans, even getting up close and personal with some concert goers in order to shake their hands from the stage. During his performance, Jinks invited Arkansas-born country singer Ward Davis to the stage for a rendition of "I'm Not the Devil," a song that the pair co-wrote. Davis -- who is also an acclaimed songwriter, even penning tracks for the likes of Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and Trace Adkins -- has also toured with Jinks nationwide.
After releasing his most recent album, Lifers, in 2018, Jinks recently announced another new project in the works. His next record, a 10-track project titled After the Fire, will come out on Oct. 11 via the singer's own Late August Records -- the fledgling release from that label.
Following his Morristown, N.J. show date, the singer will continue a busy touring schedule throughout the remainder of 2019, including four dates in September with legendary southern rock group Lynyrd Skynyrd. High energy and memorable surprises are par for the course at Jinks' shows, sometimes even catching the singer himself off-guard. In January, he received a surprise visit from country icon Randy Travis mid-performance, just after delivering a cover of Travis' hit "Diggin' Up Bones."
