In less than two weeks, we'll learn the names of the nominees for the 45th Annual Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. Bright and early on Tuesday, September 6, the Band Perry and Jake Owen will announce the final nominees in five award categories live from the Times Square studios of 'Good Morning America' in New York City. The announcement is set to air in the 8:30 AM (ET) segment of the morning news show. Also that morning, Jake Owen will perform his Top 5 smash, 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night' in the GMA studios.

Later on in the day, Jerrod Niemann and Thompson Square will announce the finalists in seven CMA award categories during a press conference at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium. Additionally, the JaneDear girls will be on hand at the Ryman to reveal the finalists for the 2011 CMA Broadcast Award Personality and Radio Station of the Year in four categories (small, medium, large, and major markets), as well as the finalists for the CMA National Broadcast Personality.

The CMA Awards nominees and winners are determined by the 6,400 industry professional members of CMA, the first-ever trade organization formed to promote an individual genre of music in 1958. The first CMA Awards Banquet and Show was held in 1967 and the following year, the awards show was broadcast on NBC-TV for the first time, making it the longest running, annual music awards program on network television. The show aired on NBC through 1971, on CBS from 1972 through 2005, and has aired on ABC since 2006.

Recent reports suggest a bidding war is underway by the big three TV networks regarding who'll air the show beginning next year, spurred by solid ratings for the CMA Awards over the past five years and the summertime special, 'CMA Music Festival: Country Music's Night to Rock.'

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood are set to return as co-hosts when the 45th Annual CMA Awards air live Wednesday, November 9 on ABC.
