Chuck Wicks just released his new video, 'Salt Life,' from his latest EP, 'Rough,' which he says is the perfect way to round out the summer season.

“Salt Life is the ultimate lifestyle! I've lived it since I was a kid growing up near Dewey Beach in Delaware every Summer,” Wicks says in a press release. “I believe we captured the love for summertime, beach, fishing and just plain having a good time with this video and song.”

Wicks says the tune was intended for another country artist instead. "I sat down to write with Vicky McGehee and Mike Mobley, who are friends with Kenny Chesney, and we were going to write for his new island record," he explains to Billboard magazine. "I started thinking, and asked if anyone had ever written a song called 'Salt Life.' They said no, and I said we had to write it. That's how it started, and it just kind of wrote itself. It's a lifestyle."

The singer, who shot the video in Destin, Fla., partnered with the ocean lifestyle brand, Salt Life, to give 20,000 fans a complimentary copy of 'Rough' with their purchase of any Salt Life product.

Wicks is certainly keeping busy. In addition to promoting the new five-song EP, he is also co-hosting Cumulus' 'America's Morning Show' on New York City's NASH FM 94.7. The singer is working alongside veteran radio host Blair Garner, as well as fellow country music celebrities Lee Ann Womack, Terri Clark and Sunny Sweeney.
