Chris Young, ‘Goodbye’ – Exclusive Song Premiere

Chris Young won't release his new album, 'A.M.,' until next week, but he's letting readers of The Boot hear a track early via this exclusive song premiere.

'Goodbye' is the fourth song on the new album, which is one of the most-anticipated projects of 2013. The track is a piano-driven ballad that serves as a perfect showcase for Young's signature rich vocal tone.

It builds from a simple, understated verse into a power ballad with a big guitar solo, then brings the energy back down for a middle section before another soaring guitar solo takes the song home. The lyric is built upon the simple, but powerful payoff, "Baby, what we got is too good for goodbye."

Young rose to fame after winning ‘Nashville Star’ in 2006. Since then he has released a string of hits, including ‘Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song),’ ‘You’ and ‘Tomorrow.’ His last album, ‘Neon,’ peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot Country Albums chart.

'A.M.' is set for release on Sept. 17. It is currently available for pre-order through Amazon. Beginning on Sept. 10, fans can stream the entire album there.
