Chris Janson Closes Out 2018 ACM Awards With ‘Redneck Life’
Chris Janson rounded out the 2018 ACM Awards with a high-energy performance of "Redneck Life," the fan-favorite song from his sophomore album, Everybody. The rowdy country life anthem made for a fitting and upbeat end to the show, which began with an emotional opening tribute to the victims of the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting.
Janson's performance was pure energy. He showed off his harmonica-playing chops, and then danced and skittered across the stage, pumping his fist, singing, "I didn't choose the redneck life / The redneck life chose me!"
Well known for his contagious enthusiasm in his live performances, Janson was thrilled to be tapped as the 2018 ACM Awards' closing act: “I am extremely excited to play on this year’s ACM Awards show," the artist shared in a press release. "It’s a true story; it’s rowdy, and it’s gonna be a blast to play live."
Currently the youngest member of the Grand Ole Opry, Janson has been nominated twice for New Male Vocalist of the Year at the ACMs, in 2016 and 2017. He will hit the road this year on Cole Swindell's Reason to Drink Tour, and will be joining Jake Owen for his Life's Whatcha Make It Tour.
