The country music community was just as caught up in the 2016 presidential election as the rest of us. Throughout Election Day (Nov. 8) and into the early-morning hours on Nov. 9, a number of artists were using social media to share their thoughts on the race -- and, when Republican nominee Donald Trump was declared the winner, on the outcome.

Artists' tweets started early on Election Day: Cassadee Pope told fans, "Don't cross your fingers ... Use those babies and go vote!" while Lee Greenwood and Charlie Daniels admitted that they were praying for the country and its leaders.

"The world is definitely watching," Civil Wars member-turned-solo artist John Paul White shared, noting that he's had a number of people in Europe ask about the election while he's been over there on tour.

Other country artists who chimed in include Maren Morris, Justin Moore, Jennifer Nettles and many, many more. Readers can read their thoughts in the photo gallery above.
