Veteran CBS News correspondent Bob Schieffer took center stage for a special Sunday night Grand Ole Opry performance which also featured Brad Paisley, Trisha Yearwood, Josh Turner, Julie Roberts and Darius Rucker.

Dressed in jeans, boots and sometimes donning a white cowboy hat, Schieffer and the band Honky Tonk Confidential performed a comical song about being a TV anchorman, set to the tune of 'Hot Rod Lincoln.' He also joined Paisley on the chorus of his hit 'Alcohol.'

"I was nervous coming between Trisha Yearwood and Brad Paisley," said Schieffer, admitting that his upcoming job moderating the final presidential debate on Oct. 15 would be far less stressful. "Tonight I feel like I'm in some sort of parallel universe."

"There's no debating here tonight," Josh Turner told the crowd. "Nashville is the home of country music."

The Grand Ole Opry is celebrating its 83rd anniversary throughout the month of October.
