'American Idol' Season 9 finalist Casey James is the latest addition to the 2011 leg of Sugarland's Incredible Machine tour. The singer will open the show for eight dates in March (see the full list of dates below).

"I am so excited," Casey says. "It's an awesome opportunity to play in front of people that love great music. I can't wait to get back out there and share new music with the fans."

Casey joins previously announced openers, pop star Sara Bareilles and folk/rock singer Matt Nathanson, along with country's own Little Big Town, who performed on the 2010 leg.

Sugarland kicks off the tour March 3 at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, before heading to North Little Rock, Ark. March 4, where Casey joins the convoy.

While Sugarland are currently taking some time off, Jennifer Nettles is likely anticipating gassing up the tour bus. "I think of the shows as something sacred," Jennifer tells The Boot. "Music is a performance art, there's no question, but at the end of the day it's a sacred space, a communion, between us and the audience."

Casey is currently in the studio working on his debut album for BNA Records. It's scheduled for release later this year.
