The Super Bowl XLVI is about to get even more country star power! Carrie Underwood will take the stage with Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, for a special performance to be filmed for 'CMT Crossroads: Steven Tyler & Carrie Underwood Live From the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam,' which will air one day before the big game.

The former 'American Idol' winner and current 'American Idol' judge join Dierks Bentley, Darius Rucker and Sara Evans as artists who will sing in events leading up to the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert will sing 'America the Beautiful' prior to kick off, with Kelly Clarkson singing the national anthem. Madonna will be joined by Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. for the halftime show.

This is not Carrie and Steven's first pairing. The two powerhouse vocalists previously joined forces for 'Undo It' and 'Walk This Way' during the 2011 Academy of Country Music Awards (watch the performance here).

Carrie is gearing up for a busy 2012. The wife of professional hockey player Mike Fisher plans on a calendar full of tour dates, along with putting the finishing touches on a new album. The 28-year-old singer reveals the upcoming set of tunes is unlike anything she has recorded in the past.

"Something that may surprise some fans is that there are a few darker songs on this album," Carrie tells Entertainment Weekly. "I have always been a fan of songs that have attitude, but the ones I'm talking about have a darker storyline. It seemed to be what the album wanted, so I decided to roll with it."

'CMT Crossroads: Steven Tyler & Carrie Underwood Live From the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam' is a privately taped event. The show will premiere on CMT on February 4 at 11:00 PM ET.
