With Carrie Underwood's performance as Maria Von Trapp in the live televised performance of 'The Sound of Music' only a month away, the singer is now starring in a commercial promoting the star-studded show.

The 21-second clip features Underwood dressed as her character, with her long blond hair piled in braids on top of her head. But while the ad doesn't give any details about the upcoming show, we do know the Oklahoma native plans on adding some new twists to the role made famous by actress Julie Andrews.

"She just has this royal air," Underwood explains to People magazine. "It would be like you're beneath her! I think once people tune in and realize that [our version] is not a remake, they won't compare it to the movie."

The 'Blown Away' singer will be joined on stage by 'True Blood' actor Stephen Moyer, who will play Captain George Von Trapp. Other actors joining the cast include Audra McDonald from ‘Private Practice,’ Christian Borle from ‘Smash,’ and Laura Benati from ‘Go On.’

'The Sound of Music' will air live on Dec. 5 on NBC.
