Just one week after its release, Carrie Underwood's smoking new single, "Smoke Break," from her upcoming Storyteller album, has earned the highest one-week add total in the history of trade publication Country Aircheck.

“The song itself is one of those story songs I feel like everybody can relate to, about how life is so hectic,” Underwood explains. “And it’s so nice when — if and when — you actually get to step away for a second. We all need that, and we all need that time to ourselves and to get to take a break.”

The tune's newly released music video, which shows the new mom in barely-there denim shorts and thigh-high boots, will undoubtedly propel the song even further up the charts.

“For the storyline, I really just wanted it to be mainly about strong women — strong, beautiful women who are doing everything that the boys do,” Underwood says. “And, at the end, we all get together and have our break.”

Storyteller, which will be released on Oct. 23, will show a maturity in Underwood, perhaps in part to her growing family.

“There are some things on there that are definitely familiar, but there’s a lot of growth that has happened, as well,” she reveals. “It’s going to sound a little bit different — still the things that fans will obviously know is me. I’m not going crazy or anything, but it’s a little bit of a shift.”

Storyteller is available for pre-order on Amazon.
