Carrie Underwood Shopping for Something That Sparkles

The newly-engaged Carrie Underwood is sporting what's believed to be a five-carat diamond engagement ring. And now she's out shopping for something else that sparkles!

Getting ready to hit the road for her Play On tour, Carrie says she hopes to emulate two of her musical heroes in the wardrobe department. "When you talk about Reba [McEntire] and Loretta [Lynn], you think of sparkles and somebody who always looks great, sounds great," she tells Ottawa-based radio station Y101. "So hopefully I'd like to bring some of that magic into my show. I think there will be more costume changes than the last tour."

The tour, Carrie says, is her way of thanking her fans who helped make her album, 'Play On,' soar to No. 1. "Especially in today's music world and sales and all that weird stuff, to do well is to do awesome, so I'm really excited that things have gotten off to a good start and I'm ready to get out there. The tour's gonna be awesome too. We've just started talking about everything, and I've got some really imaginative people in my camp now and they are just coming out with everything -- guns blazing. I'm excited!"

Carrie is also working on juggling her tour schedule with her NHL-star fiance's game schedule. But she says she is up for the challenge. "It's difficult scheduling a personal life somewhere in the midst of my world and his world. It'll be a difficult little while, but I think we're doing alright."

Thankfully, Carrie, who lives in Nashville, is comfortable in Mike's hometown. "I love it here," she says of Ottawa. "People are so nice. You hear a lot about southern hospitality and being in the south, it's great, but you come up here and everybody is just so polite. I'll wander around and shop and stuff by myself, and anybody who says anything to me is just so cool and laid back. They're just like 'We're big fans and that's it. That's all I wanted to say.' They don't follow me around the grocery store!"

Carrie's Play On tour kicks off in March, along with opening acts Craig Morgan and Sons of Sylvia.
