CMA nominee and awards show co-host Carrie Underwood hasn't released an album since 'Play On' in 2009, leaving fans patiently waiting for new material from the superstar. But fear not, Carrie called in to radio show 'On Air With Ryan Seacrest' to reveal she's midway through the making of her fourth studio album!

After reminiscing about the day she first met Ryan ahead of her stint on 'American Idol,' Carrie told the 'Idol' host, "I've been writing quite a bit. And I've been in the studio a little bit. So I have about half an album done right now and I'm trying to fill in the gaps and figure out what pieces of the puzzle are missing. But it's a fun time right now figuring everything out."

Since releasing the now-two-times-platinum 'Play On,' Carrie has married hockey-playing husband Mike Fisher, with the newlyweds having just celebrated their-one year anniversary in July. Carrie divulged details on her personal life in the interview, saying, "We started out being married, he was still living in Ottawa, and I was living in Nashville. Now we actually live together under the same roof. That has changed. It's actually nice having him around."

We're guessing the big move-in will make for some good, new songwriting material for the upcoming album. As for when we can expect to get a first listen at the new music, we may have a bit of a wait ahead. Carrie explains, "It's a little too early to debut anything. I just want to make sure it's all right before I let it go."

That means the songstress won't be debuting any of the new songs at this month's upcoming iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. "It's such a short set that everybody plays," Carrie notes. "You can kind of just do the best of the best. I feel like everybody that's going to be there is going to be getting a pretty amazing show."

If you're attending the festival, you might want to keep an eye out for the singer in the casinos, as she reveals she plans to do a little gambling while in Sin City! The iHeartRadio Festival takes place Sept. 23-24 and will also feature Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flatts, among others.
