Carrie Underwood's brand-new album, Storyteller, is out now, and fans who order the Target exclusive edition of the record will receive two additional tracks: a stripped-down version of "Heartbeat" and a new song called "Little Girl, Don't Grow Up Too Fast." The singer has shared a video of her performing the tune on YouTube.

Press play on the video above to hear the sweet song, which Underwood and her band perform in a contemporary studio.

"Little girl, little girl, don't grow up too fast / Before you know it, you'll it, you'll be wishin' you could just go back / Don't you know, there'll be plenty of time for that / Somewhere down the road?" Underwood sings in the song's chorus. "Yeah, it's all goin' by in the blink of an eye / You can't slow down this thing called life / So take your time and let it last / Little girl, don't grow up too fast."

"I really would go back, if I could, and tell myself to slow down a little bit," Underwood says. "Hopefully this song will be a reminder to just take it all in ..."

The "slow down and enjoy life" theme of "Little Girl, Don't Grow Up Too Fast" is somewhat similar to the message that Underwood hopes her new album's first single, "Smoke Break," conveys.

“The song itself is one of those story songs I feel like everybody can relate to, about how life is so hectic,” Underwood explains of "Smoke Break." “And it’s so nice when — if and when — you actually get to step away for a second. We all need that, and we all need that time to ourselves and to get to take a break.”

"Little Girl, Don't Grow Up Too Fast" is one of 15 tracks on the Target exclusive edition of the country superstar's new project; the regular edition contains 13 songs. Fans who purchase Storyteller through CarrieUnderwood.fm will receive exclusive pre-sale access to Underwood's 2016 tour, which will be announced soon.
