In the days before the 2016 CMA Awards, co-host Carrie Underwood was teasing her 10-plus looks for Country Music's Biggest Night ... and they weren't just "normal dresses." Rather, the country superstar and CMA co-host's looks were inspired by five decades of the CMA Awards.

Of course, the most iconic look was Underwood's replica of Reba McEntire's infamous red dress from the 1993 CMA Awards. When McEntire wore the super-low-cut outfit, she's recalled in the years since, her dad wondered if it was on backwards -- and, never one to miss a perfect punchline, Underwood's 2016 CMA Awards co-host Brad Paisley co-opted Mr. McEntire's joke.

"Hey, Carrie, is your dress on backwards?" Paisley quipped from stage, to which the star simply replied, "No -- and you can go ask Reba if you don't believe me!"

Along with her '90s-inspired dress, Underwood covered the CMA Awards' other decades with a green frock with embroidered roses for the 1960s, a long gold gown dripping with diamonds for the '70s and a geometric mini for the '80s. Additionally, Underwood donned, throughout the evening, a stunningly beautiful dusty rose gown worn for her red carpet entrance, a tattered-but-tailored menswear-inspired look for her performance of "Dirty Laundry" and an all-black gown with a velvet top post-show, among others.
