Brett Eldredge will hit the road with Keith Urban this summer, serving as one of the opening acts on Urban's highly anticipated 2016 Ripcord World Tour. The "Drunk on Your Love" singer previously toured with Urban on Urban's 2014 Light the Fuse Tour, but he says that things are much different this time around.

"Everything has taken off in a big way," Eldredge told The Boot and other reporters at a recent media event, recalling, "He called me back and said, ‘I want you on my tour,’ like he was going to have to try and convince me or something."

Saying yes, of course, was an easy choice (really, it wasn't a choice at all), especially because Eldredge credits Urban with helping him quite a bit at the beginning of his career.

"He has done so much for my career from the start, by just teaching me how to be a better artist," Eldredge notes. "When my first single, "Raymond," came out -- some people know it, but not everybody does -- it was a song that was very special to me and was a very deep, personal song. Keith came out on the radio and said, ‘This is a song that, I’ve cried from this song. I wept when I heard this song.’

"No one knew who I was," Eldredge continues. "My mom and my family knew who I was at that point, and some of my friends, but other than that, hardly anybody knew my music. He’s been a huge supporter since the beginning."

Even though his name won't be at the top of the marquee for the Ripcord World Tour, Eldredge promises to deliver his all each night.

"I want someone to go to the experience of a tour and say, ‘I’ve never seen that,'" he adds. "'The Ripcord Tour, I’ll never forget that.’ This tour is going to be awesome."
