The season finale of 'Nashville' is adding some star power. Extra reports that Brad Paisley will appear as himself on the final episode of Season 1. Additionally, the "Beat This Summer" singer will perform with Rayna James (Connie Britton) and Deacon Claybourne (Chip Esten). The cameo may be a surprise to some, since earlier this year the West Virginia native wasn't sure he wanted to share the spotlight with his wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, when she wasn't herself.

"They've asked, but it's a little odd, having Kim on there playing somebody else," Brad told Parade Magazine. "I can't watch it. It is really good, but it's disturbing to me, too close to what I do. It's like if I was in the CIA, I don't know if I'd watch 'Homeland.' But I'm not, so I do."

While it's likely they won't be in the same scene, Mrs. Paisley -- whose character Peggy Kenter has been a major part in Rayna's divorce from her husband and newly crowed mayor Teddy -- will also be in the finale. And, with any luck, much more in Season 2.

Last November, we reported Kimberly had signed on for more Season 1 appearances along with the possibility of becoming a regular if the series was picked up for a second season. As of yet, ABC has not renewed "Nashville" for the 2013-14 year, despite steady ratings in its time slot. It is likely an announcement will not be made until the Upfront presentations -- where networks pitch shows to advertisers -- in May.

With his appearance, Brad joins a growing list of country singers who have welcomed the show to Music City. Chris Young, Brantley Gilbert, Kip Moore, Vince Gill and Pam Tillis have all made cameos this season.

The 'Nashville' Season 1 finale will air on May 22. Catch the drama every Wednesday at 10:00 PM ET on ABC.
