Now that his tour has wrapped up, Brad Paisley is home in Nashville celebrating his last two No. 1 singles, 'I'm Still A Guy' and 'Waitin' On A Woman.' The country superstar and his pregnant wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, joined the writers of the two tunes and several hundred friends and family for a festive afternoon Monday at the Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville.

Lee Thomas Miller, Kelly Lovelace and Paisley co-wrote 'I'm Still A Guy.' In accepting his awards, Lovelace called Paisley "my best friend." He went on to say that he, Paisley and Miller have to know each other pretty well to write some of the lines that were in the song. Miller added, "Think about the lines that are in the song and then try to imagine the ones we had to leave out!"

In accepting his award for 'Waitin' on a Woman,' co-writer Don Sampson thanked Paisley for "the emotion you put in the record and for making the song your own." Wynn Varble, the song's other co-writer, confessed, "When I first heard Brad's version, it was more up-tempo than what we had originally intended, and I thought to myself 'They've ruined our song'. Then I was driving down the road one day, and I decided to listen to it one more time and it started to grow on me ... I love real country music and Brad is one of the last ones that still does it these days."

"In the history of country music, if ever there was a song I wish I'd written, it has to be 'Waitin' on a Woman,'" Paisley told the crowd of industry executives, songwriters and friends. "That is my all-time favorite song. I truly love the sentiment of the lyric and the concept of the patience a man has for a woman in those situations. And I think there's nothing more romantic than the thought of a man waiting for his love on the other side."

Paisley also said he was glad he could keep his promise to the writers that he would release the song as a single. It had first appeared on his 'Time Well Wasted' album, but even though radio requested it to be a single, it didn't happen. The singer reprised the song on a special edition of his next album, '5th Gear,' and the song shot to the top of the charts.

"I'm thankful we released the song when we did because I could have never done the video and had Andy Griffith in it if we had released it when we thought it was going to come out," said Paisley. "Doing this really did complete the circle for me -- being able to have this song and its sentiment and do my dream video. Andy is my favorite TV character of all time, so to have him in the video and honor the song with his presence and at the same time honor him, was such an honor. He's just as proud of it as I am and it was a great thrill for me."

Paisley then turned to Sampson and Varble and said, "Andy Griffith called right before I headed down here and wanted me to tell you congratulations and he thinks it's one of the best songs he's ever heard."

Up next for Paisley is a performance on the Grand Ole Opry November 1, followed by co-hosting the CMA Awards with Carrie Underwood on November 12. His new, mostly instrumental album, 'Play,' hits stores on Election Day, November 4.

"They are always trying to get people to go out and vote and that would be great but it's also important that they go out and buy this record," Paisley jokes. "If you want a change, then go out and buy this instrumental record."
