Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton shocked the country music community by announcing their divorce on Monday (July 20), but those trying to find clues about the news from the two artists' recent public appearances aren't getting any help from Shelton. As recent pictures show, the "Sangria" singer kept his wedding ring on until the very end.

Shelton was at a NASCAR race in New Hampshire on Sunday (July 19), and the photo above, of him at the event with movie star Adam Sandler, shows that Shelton's wedding ring was still on his ring finger. The band, custom-made by jeweler Johnathon Arndt (also the create of Carrie Underwood's wedding bling), is based on one of Shelton's tattoos and also features a black diamond mounted on the inside. The jeweler spent 60 days hand-engraving the ring.

While Shelton kept his ring on until the official end of his marriage, Lambert's five-carat white diamond ring was not on her finger during a concert on Saturday (July 18). During the show, she sang "The House That Built Me" and emotionally broke down, asking fans to finish out the song for her.

The Oklahoman confirms that Shelton filed for divorce on July 6, three days after both singers performed at the Greenbrier Classic in West Virginia.

“This is not the future we envisioned,” he and Lambert said in a statement when announcing their split. “And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”

Shelton is scheduled to return to the stage on July 24 in Wisconsin, while Lambert is set to sing on July 28 at 3rd and Lindsley in Nashville.
