Blake Shelton is the newest board member of Oklahoma's Wildlife Conservation Foundation. The avid outdoorsman was appointed to the board in early September, and will help the organization raise funds for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, according to the Associated Press. He'll also help promote outdoor activities like hunting and fishing in the state. -- AM

Carrie Underwood is set to achieve another notch in her belt in September of 2018, when the country superstar will be honored with her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. According to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, reality star judge Simon Cowell will join the organization's president and CEO, event emcee Leron Gubler, in unveiling the new star dedicated to Underwood. Cowell was a judge on American Idol during its fourth season, when Underwood won the televised competition and launched her music career. -- CL

While hosting the Canadian Country Music Awards on Sept. 9, Shania Twain also racked up an armful of trophies. Twain took home awards in the Top Selling Album of the Year, Top Selling Canadian Album of the Year, CCMA Generation Award and Apple Music Fans Choice Award categories. Former The Boot Artist to Watch James Barker Band, meanwhile, won in the Single of the Year category, for their song "Chills," and Dallas Smith was crowned Male Artist of the Year, while Meghan Patrick won in the Female Artist of the Year category. Dierks Bentley will headline the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's tribute to bluegrass icons Ralph and Carter Stanley. According to a press release, the show coincides with the Museum's Ralph Stanley: Voice From on High exhibition, now on display. Bentley will be joined by Sierra Hull, the Gibson Brothers and Justin Moses, among other artists, at the performance, which is set for Oct. 24. Tickets for the event go on sale on Sept. 14 via the Hall of Fame's website. -- AM

Louisiana native and country artist Dylan Scott has announced the first-ever Bayou Stock festival, an event that will raise funds to buy Christmas gifts for children in need in his hometown of Sterlington, La. Scott will be joined by Morgan Evans, Lainey Wilson and Louisiana artist Barrett Pepper at the festival, set for Nov. 17 at the Sterlington Sports Complex. Scott, whose single "Hooked" is climbing up the country radio charts, was inspired by fellow Louisianan Tim McGraw, who also hosts a charitable fundraiser in his hometown. Tickets for the festival go on sale on Sept. 12 via Bayou Stock's official website. -- AM

Also in charitable news, Jason Aldean raised more than $600,000 for a children's hospital at his recent Concert for the Kids, held in Aldean's hometown of Macon, Ga. Proceeds from the show benefit the city's Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital at Navicent Health. "There is nothing better than coming back to your hometown for a great cause and Georgia really showed up last night," Aldean says in a statement. “Thanks to Lauren Alaina for helping set the tone, and with the community's support over the last few years, we've been able to help build an entire new facility for these kids who really need it the most." Throughout the years, Aldean has raised more than $2 million for the hospital with his charity performances. -- AM

Rory Feek has released a new album of hits and unreleased material recorded with his late wife, Joey Feek. Titled The Singer and the Song, the album will features 20 of the couple's "most-requested hits," according to a press release, along with new material that's never been released before. The CD/DVD duo will include interviews with Rory and details of his and Joey's life together. "The songs that appear on this ‘Best Of’ record are not our greatest hits,” Rory Feek writes in the accompanying booklet. “Instead, they are the songs that brought out the best in us. These, along with many others. Each time we went into the recording studio, we tried our best to choose the best songs we could for where we were in our lives." -- AM
