Blake Shelton has released the video for his latest single, 'Lonely Tonight.' The song, which he sings with Ashley Monroe, is the second single from his 'Bringing Back the Sunshine' album.

The video starts with Shelton pulling up to a gorgeous overlook of Los Angeles' cityscape -- and Monroe in the back of a limo that's driving down those same streets he's staring down upon.

"I never thought you'd pick up the phone / It's Friday night, you should be out on the town / Didn't think you'd be / Sitting at home all alone like me ... We don't have to be lonely tonight," they sing, before meeting in a hotel room -- still with an incredible view of the city.

It's a bit of a surprise that the Oklahoma native appeared in the 'Lonely Tonight' video himself, since he says he is no longer willing to play a romantic lead in any of his songs.

“Since I’ve been married, I won’t go there in a video,” he explains. “If I was to go there, it would be Miranda in a video. I’m not an actor and don’t pretend to be. Everybody knows I’m married to Miranda Lambert, and they don’t want to see me leaving a bar with a girl.

"Why would I take this ring off for a video?" Shelton adds. "I’d be insulted by that if I was Miranda, and I don’t want to do anything to insult her or hurt her feelings.”

In fact, an alternate video for the song, released in September, features neither Shelton nor Monroe, relying instead on two actors to play the song's characters.

Shelton and Monroe performed 'Lonely Tonight' during the 2014 CMA Awards. Watch their performance here.
