Blake Shelton has unveiled plans to produce a new Hallmark holiday movie called Time for You to Come Home for Christmas, according to ET Online. The film will star actor and reality show host Alison Sweeney, along with actor Lucas Bryant.

The film follows the story of Katherine (portrayed by Sweeney), a recent widow, as she and her son Will travel to her Virginia hometown for Christmas. On the way there, they meet Jack (portrayed by Bryant), who is also on his way home for the holidays. Ultimately, it turns out that Katherine and Jack are en route to the same destination, and as they continue to spend time together, the pair grows closer.

However, their courtship isn't quite smooth sailing: Katherine is still dealing with the grief of losing her husband, while Jack has a mysterious secret that he must attend to while in town. However, just in time for Christmas, the two characters realize a new connection between them.

The new film is a sequel to 2018's Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas, which was based on "Time for Me to Come Home," a song Shelton released in 2012. The singer co-wrote the track with his mother, Dorothy Shackleford, who also wrote a novel of the same name. "Time for Me to Come Home" makes an appearance on Shelton's 2012 holiday record, Cheers, it's Christmas.

Production for Time for You to Come Home for Christmas is currently underway in Vancouver, Canada. The film will air on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel.
