Blake Shelton had better be ready for some slime: The country star has been announced as the host of the 2016 Kids' Choice Awards!

On Sunday (Nov. 8), Shelton teased the news on Twitter, saying that he had "something BIG" to announce.

"No chance y'all are gonna guess this one," he added. "It's just WAY too insane ..."

"I've been on countless stages throughout my life, but none have promised the madness, excitement and endless slime as Nick's Kids' Choice Awards, which is undoubtedly the ultimate party for kids," Shelton tells People. "There is only one team here, and it's Team Kids' Choice, so bring it on, Nickelodeon!"

Shelton was nominated at the 2015 Kids' Choice Awards for Favorite Male Singer; he lost to Nick Jonas, who hosted the show last year. The TV show The Voice, which Shelton has been a part of for all of its nine seasons, took home Favorite Talent Competition Show.

The singer has been flying high for the past few months: He is filming Season 9 of The Voice and has already announced his return for the show's 10th season; has revealed dates for his 2016 tour; and recently revealed his new relationship with Gwen Stefani.

The 2016 Kids' Choice Awards will air live on March 12. More information, including nominees, will be revealed on the awards show's website in the coming months.
