Newcomer Adam Brand is currently on the road in his native Australia, which is experiencing massive flooding in the Northern region of New South Wales and throughout the state of Queensland.

"The floods that have hit parts of Australia are the worst some areas have had in history," says the 'Ready for Love' singer. "Even though no cities have been hit, some 200,000 people have been affected! Regional towns have been completely cut off, and the military are dropping in food and supplies."

After a show in the town of Dubbo, Adam and his band hit the sack. The next morning they woke up to the water rising. "By that afternoon, the town was cut off from all directions," Adam explains. "We managed to get out with a couple of hours to spare to our next show that night."

While the weather is affecting his touring schedule, it also has personal implications. "These towns are the places I tour and have a lot of good friends who today are homeless," he explains. "But just like the people of Nashville, the folks out in these country towns of Australia are tough. We will all band together and get through this."

Adam refers to the devastating floods that hit Nashville in May 2010 and the community's resilience, which took the form of countless benefits held afterwards, including Garth Brooks' week-run that raised more than $10 million for the city.

Singer Julie Roberts, whose house was destroyed in those floods, told FOX News the experience "was crazy and horrifying. We need your prayers. It looks pretty disastrous for myself, my neighbors and everyone in that area of Nashville."

The Queensland Premier has made an appeal for donations to help residents affecting by the flooding. Find donation details here.

Adam has tour dates Down Under through the end of January. Get details here.
