Miranda Lambert Takes Home Album of the Year at the 2017 ACM Awards
Miranda Lambert's The Weight of These Wings is the 2017 ACM Awards Album of the Year! The big news was revealed on Sunday night (April 2), during the annual awards ceremony in Las Vegas, Nev.
"I just want to say thank you for letting me release my heartbreak and sharing it with me," Lambert said from stage. "And thank you to my Daddy, Rick Lambert, who's here with me tonight, for this beautiful title."
Added producer Frank Liddell, "I just want to thank Miranda for being willing to look deep in her soul, and bringing her life into her art. And to any young songwriters out there, tell the truth. It's more interesting."
Miranda Lambert won the ACM Awards’ Album of the Year category with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Revolution, Four the Record and Platinum -- and now, her newest project, The Weight of These Wings, is carrying on the tradition. “Vice,” “We Should Be Friends,” “Highway Vagabond,” “Covered Wagon” and “Keeper of the Flame” are all fan-favorite songs from this 24-track double-disc album. Country talents Ashley Monroe, Jack Ingram, Gwen Sebastian, Shane McAnally, Lucie Silvas and Lambert’s boyfriend Anderson East helped co-write some of The Weight of These Wings‘ tracks.
Other nominees for Album of the Year at the 2017 ACM Awards included Black (Dierks Bentley), Dig Your Roots (Florida Georgia Line), Hero (Maren Morris), Ripcord (Keith Urban) and The Weight of These Wings (Miranda Lambert).
