The Boot has confirmed that Montgomery Gentry have signed with Average Joe's Entertainment and will release a new single this spring.

The move reunites the duo with Average Joe's president Tom Baldrica, who served in leadership positions at the duo's longtime label Columbia Records until July 2010. Montgomery Gentry parted ways with Columbia in September after 11 years with the imprint.

"We couldn't be happier to be signing with [CEO] Shannon [Houchins] and Tom [Baldrica] and the guys at Average Joe's," Eddie Montgomery says. "Those guys are cut from the same cloth we are and man, they are so creative. We can't wait to get this new project out there to our fans!" Troy Gentry adds, "We love the team they have in place and the passion and excitement that they bring."

Eddie and Troy join artists Colt Ford, Josh Gracin and Matt Stillwell at their new label home. According to Music Row, Montgomery Gentry even made an onstage appearance with Colt Ford at an industry showcase Wednesday (March 2) in Nashville.

It seems things are looking up for the Kentucky natives, who also received the 'good news' in January that Eddie is cancer free!

"Mr. Montgomery underwent successful robotic surgery for prostate cancer in December," his doctor, Thomas Kirk Slabaughm Jr., revealed. "His cancer was completely excised, and he will not require further treatment for his prostate cancer in the future. Mr. Montgomery has benefited greatly from early detection of prostate cancer with PSA screening."

The boys hit the road this spring with their first stop April 22 in Mahnomen, Minn. Get a full list of tour dates here.
