Zac Brown + Wife Welcome a Son

Zac Brown and his wife have welcomed their first son.

The singer-songwriter took to social media to share the news with fans on Thursday (May 8).

"Zac & Shelly Brown are pleased to announce the arrival of Alexander Frost Brown!" he posted to Twitter. "Born May 5, 2014."

The baby weighed 11 lbs., 7 oz. and measured 22.5 inches at birth.

Alexander Frost Brown joins his four older sisters -- Justice, Lucy, Georgia and Joni -- in the growing family.

The couple announced the pregnancy last November, and confirmed they were expecting their first boy a week later.

“We’re just gonna keep on going until we get a boy,” Brown told The Boot in 2011. The singer-songwriter, who is one of 12 children himself, added, “If that’s 13, then I doubt I’m gonna be able to pull that off, but we’ll see.”
