Released in October of 2009 by Joe Nichols, "Gimme That Girl" was written by the Peach Pickers: Rhett Akins, Dallas Davidson and Ben Hayslip. The song was the second single from Nichols' Old Things New album and, in May of 2010, became Nichols' third career No. 1 single. It also earned a Top 40 spot on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart (No. 34) and was one of the Top 10 songs on 2010's year-end Billboard Country Songs chart (No. 7).
