Although Shania Twain has said goodbye to touring, she's not saying farewell to music entirely; in fact, in her own words, she's "on a roll" in the recording studio.

The 50-year-old (who will turn 51 at the end of August) shared a photo on Instagram on Wednesday (Aug. 3), in which she's recording vocals and playing an acoustic guitar. The picture is captioned "On a roll ..." and is followed by a few musical emojis.

Twain has been open about her plans to record new music, saying in March of 2015 that she's had a different experience recording this time around.

“It is a more soulful approach to my songwriting than I’ve probably ever allowed myself to have before,” she revealed at the time. “It’s fun music, too. I like to stay positive. I’ll make sure that I do some things on there that make you feel good and happy as well. I’m having a lot of fun.”

Twain's new album will be her first project of all-new tunes since Up! was released in 2002. She first announced her intentions to make a new album in 2013, but her Las Vegas residency slowed down the process; however, in 2014, she admitted that her residency gave her the confidence she needed to dive into the project.

“The success here in Las Vegas has given me a confidence that I have not had in years, even in past tours,” she admitted at the time. “I really have been able to build up a lot more courage and a lot more confidence in myself. I’m ready for more things now.”

Twain said in 2015 that her goal was to get her first single out while she's 50. She'll turn 51 on Aug. 28.
